Parashar battar praise of Mother Goda ..

Srivaishnava acharya Parashar battar praised Mother Goda devi as follows.

neelatunga stanagiritati stuptamudbodya krishnam
pararthyam svam shruthi shatha shira sidha madyapayanthi
svochistayam srajinigalitham ya balathkrutya boonkthe
goda tasyay nama ida midam buya evaastu booya ha

Neela’ means nature. Lord pervades in this beautiful nature in every corner. Every one enjoys this beautiful nature but never try to recognize him, who is the cause behind this nature and never want to listen to him. Lord is annoyed with our behavior and even he silently immersed in the nature not showing attention on us. Mother Goda devi woke up the Lord who is sleeping and taught him about the relation between him and us. She made the lord to keep his independence aside to grace us his love. At the same time she brought us near to him by hiding our sins. Told us about greatness of Lord.

‘pararthyam’ means the great teacher who taught a great lesson to both the Lord and us. When we go to lord he may look at our sins, so he may punish us. In order to save us from punishment, she has surrendered herself to the Lord and is with him at his heart by covering with compassion all the time for saving us.

She has shown us the path described in Vedas

Vedas says “omka:ra prabhava: ha  veda:ha” which mean all veda:s came from omkara.  So sha:stras tell us to know the meaning of omkara.

pranavo: dhanu hu shiro:hyatma: brahma thalakshya muchyathe:

apramathe:na ve:thavyam sharavatthanmayo: bave:th

pranavo: dhanu hu Omka:ra is represented  with bow.  “ shiro:hyatma:”, in which  soul is the tip of the arrow. Then where to target this arrow? “brahma thalakshya muchyathe” target is brahmam. Brahmam means ultimate happiness which never fades away. “apramathena vetavyam” little carelessness or negligence will make us to fall down. This is what Upanishad part of veda warning us. Mother Goda devi attained the same happiness and shown us what it mean.

In Sanskrit ‘krish’ mean endless ‘na’ means joy, so Krishna mean endless- joy.

Where is that joy? We have to identify that in everything what we see. But at present it is not so easy with this body which has dominated by gunas called rajas , tamas.   To know that we have to improve satva guna in us, this is very less in portion. And in parallel rajas, tamas should be suppressed. satva guna can make us to identify the truth where as rajas and tamas makes us away from knowing truth. That’s why in our vedic practices index finger in our hand represented as soul and the next three fingers represented as rajas, tamas and satva gunas which are attributes of body. Little finger indicates satva guna which is very small and thumb indicates Lord i.e; paramatma. Getting index finger bend to the thumb is gnana mudra.

In this poem Parasharabattar says in romantic way “neelatunga stanagiritati”, as if the Lord is lying down at divine chest of a beautiful lady called Neela and sleeping there. It appears as a romantic poetic trend he followed. But there is a deep meaning inside. Mother Andal wished to marry Lord Krishna, but he is not of her time. So she selected Lord Ranganatha of Srirangam can be her husband. She wants to marry Krishna but in his Deity form of Ranganatha. She surrendered herself to Venkatesa of tirumala hill and offered her prayers to Sundarabahu swamy of Tirumalirunsolai hill. Finally Lord Ranganatha, who woke up for her prayers and accepted her. Since the same Krishna present in all the places. Consider earth as a lady and Srirangam as heart of the earth since he is the first incarnation of the Lord. Tirumala and Tirumalirunsolai hills are there in either side of the Srirangam. So if we imagine the two hills as divine chest of neela, her heart portion is Srirangam. ‘stuptamudbodya krishnam’, and Ranganatha who married her is the same Krishna, who got up and married Goda devi.
