4-35.. slokam..upanishadin theettiya porul geetha.. kaamya vanam.. vallukku paarai..sarukku maram pola..pithalini silaa..vazlkai  villyaadum edam–vaazlkkaiyil sarukaamal erukalaam..near by is the vyomasura guha. ..where cowherds were hijacked and recovered by sri.Balaraman ..sandhai pottu meetta edam..namaku  acharayarin anughraham venum. yentru munnan sonnaan… moonntru nilai—vyaadhivyodu ulla nillai– marunthu sappitathum vyaadhi neengium nilai–..nantraha  gunam aanathum niraivaaha pidithavai ellaam  sappidum nilai.. ethu pola annmeehathilum..nithya nymithya karmakal pannuvathu  marunthu pola..nadu nilamai varuvom.. gjanathai grahikka acharyaedam meenndum pohanum..papangal pona atmavidam thaan gjanam pallukum..karma yogam marunthu enkiraan..acharyadidam sentru arivai kollanum.. mohathil -mayakkathil meenndum poha maattom.”.punaha moham nahi”.. yenkiraan..aseshana boothaani.. ella jeeva rasikalum atma .namakku samamaana ninaippay… kannanai polavum ninaippaay.. muthiya nillai.. arivin muthiya nilai..maram, malai , meen, arivin veru paadukal..arivin muttriya nilai gjanathaal ellorum samam aanaal..veru paadin vudalai naam paarkka villai.. vudambai kalainthu atmaavai paarthaal ellorum samam yenkirom..kannanum kuzlanthaikalum sarukkum pothu ellorum sama nillai. pillaikalukkum samam avnai pola..atma gjanam muthiyathum avanuku samamaaha  elloraiyum paarkirom..papam punnyam tholainthathum veru paadukal arunthu pohum….4-35 slokam..yaj jnatva na punar moham
evam yasyasi pandava
yena bhutany asesani
draksyasy atmany atho mayi ….
..Yajjnatwa = after understanding from the Acharya, na punar = never again, moham = the confused knowledge that atman is body, yasyasi = will attain. Yena = by acquiring this knowledge, asesana = without residue, bhutani = all living beings, atmani = as equal to you [Arjuna], drakshyasy = see or view. Not only that, atho mayi = even equal to Me [Sri Krishna]. So, by gaining this knowledge from Acharyas, we will not see others as male, female, animal or tree, but all as atman and equal to us.

4-35.Ramanuja’s Commentary..By learning this spiritual knowledge one will never be deluded again by maya or illusion which causes one to have the misconception that the atma or soul is the physical body and the notion of the ego consciousness of I-ness and my-ness that is produced thereby. Not by illusion but by the realisation of ones atma within and the consciousness that all beings in variegated forms all over creation possess this self same soul equally once they are divested from their individual designations and all souls are of a purly spiritual nature once they are disassociated from matter and all are a part of the Supreme Being which is identical to Lord Krishna. The nature of the atma is the essence and is equally the same in all beings as well as being equal with the nature of the Supreme Being. Thus when disassociated from matter one atma is non-different from another and possesses the attributes of the Supreme.

sarvebhyah papa-krt-tamah
sarvam jnana-plavenaiva
vrjinam santarisyasi…
He personifies the sins [papa] as an ocean. Api ced asi = even if you are, sarvebhya = among all, papebya = sinners [papi], papa krt tamah= committed more sins. That is most sinned among sinners. The Gyana would navigate him from this ocean of sins. Sarvam = all, vrijinam = ocean of papa or sins, even if it is unsurmountable, plavana = the boat of, Gyana = knowledge, santarisyasi = navigate and reach ashore. So with the atman gyana boat one could cross the ocean of papa and reach to safety.

..4-36..Ramanuja’s Commentary..To emphasise the power of spiritual knowledge Lord Krishna specifically states in this verse that even the most incorrigible sinner is redeemed if changing their ways acquires and applies spiritual knowledge in their consciousness.

4-37 slokam..Madhu vanam.. kodiyavan Madhuvai mudithu naattai vuyvithaan.. madhra puri yentra peyar… periya kullam -pakkathil druvan silla–Druvan davam eruntha edam .. perumaalai ” om namo bagavathey  vaasudevaayaha.” .yennum mantrathaal. dyaanithu  neril paarthaan Druvan…Lavanasura guhai..Raman kalathil eruntha asuran..yamunai nadhi karaiyil eruntha asuran.rishigal vendi konndaar evanathu thollai thaangaamal..Sadrugnan aasai pattu Lavanusaranai mudithaar..Raman advices.”mazlai kaalathuku munum padaiyai anuppu.. porittu makkalai nall valli padithanum..selvam porul eduthu konndu pohanum” .deerkka darisanathodu  thayaraahinndu elam sollukiraan..maruthuvarkal kattada vallunarkal elloraiyum koottinnu poha sollukiran..Lava Kusarkalai santhitnu vittu Sadrugnan ponaan..gangaiyai kadukkum pothu Valmiki aasiramathil ….”lavannan thannai thambiyaal vaanethi.”.Kulesekar paasuram..maduraa yenum peyaraal papangal pohum..37 slokathaal thaanndi ponathum papam yennum  kadal tholainthu pohavillai.. thirumbi vanthu villunthuduvomo?..oru santheham.. anubavithu kallikkanum yentru sollukirrkaley.. eppadi theerum?..papathin palanai anubavikkamal tholaika mudiyumaa? eranndaavathu santheham..kozlunthu vittu eriyum neruppu virahukalai sambal aakuvathu pola. athey pola, arivu yennum neruppu ellaa karmaakkalaiyum yerithu sambal akkividum..thirumbi virahu kattai erukkaathu ellaiyaa athu pola papangal ellam poey vidum… thirumbi varaathu  paapangal yentru mudal santhehathukku padil..atma gjanam  vullavanukku– orey neruppu kattu kattukalaana virahu kattukalai azlippathu pola papangalai ellaam azlikkum. papa punyangalin suha thukkangalai azlikkum..ethu thaan karma tholaikkum yenbathu..motsham kidaikka papam punyam eranndum pohanum.. samsaaram thannda eranndum pohanum..”maayanai mannu” Aandal  paasuram..”poya pillaiyum puhutharuvaan.nintranavum  theeyinil thoosaahum “yentru soluvathu pola..Thiruvanatha puram” kesava ‘-yentru sonnal papangal pohum yentru Namaalvaar sonnathu pola..
 4-37 slokam.yathaidhamsi samiddho ’gnir
bhasma-sat kurute ’rjuna
jnanagnih sarva-karmani
bhasma-sat kurute tatha….
Sri Krishna tells just like that, this also, by an example. Samiddhogni = raging fire, yata = how, aidhamsi = any amount of fire wood, bhasma sat kurute = is reduced to ashes, tatha = in the same way, jnanagni = the fire of knowledge [ about atman], bhasma sat kurute = would reduce to ashes, sarva karmani = all karma [ papa punya].

..4-37Ramanuja’s Commentary..Lord Krishna uses this illustration citing the complete eradication of all sins and their destruction to further emphasise the potency of spiritual knowledge,

4-38 slokam..nerunji mull kaadukalai Brindavanam aakkinaan..7 naalkalum erunthom..sapthaham bagavatha upanyasam nadanthaathu..brindavanam swami’Rengji mandir thottam..mayil kiyil maan erukirathu…Ashtakshra homamum Sudarsana homamum nadanthathu..vulaha shemathukku…Krishnan- Rukmini kalyanam nadanthathu…aalilai kannan  thirukolam ..odam pola kadakum– neruppu pola erikkum..neruppu punitha paduthum..thangam pudam poduvathu pola..azlukku neengi naamum punitham adaiya atma gjanam yennum nerupu veynndum….ethu pola pavithram ellai.. pavithram–punitham ellam orey porul..ellatha muyal kombai aahayathil paranthu poey pidikka mudiyumaa?..karma yogi kala pokkil ethai adikiraan yenkiraan..muyartchi edukka thevai ellai yenkiraan..atma gjanam malara papangal thadai… nithya nymithya karama pannithum ethai ozlithu, atma gjnam yennum sooriyanai maraikka meham ontrum ellai..naam siramam  pada thevai ellai enkiraan.4-38 slokam.na hi jnanena sadrsam
pavitram iha vidyate
tat svayam yoga-samsiddhah
kalenatmani vindati…
..Iha = here, na hi = without, jnanene = atman gyana, pavitram = sanctifies, na vidyate = not seen. Is this possible? Or, is Sri Krishna telling some impossible things? Tat = such an atman gyana, svayam = without external help, yoga samsiddha = a Karma yogi, kalena = during the course of time, vindati = attains, atmani = atman. No great efforts are needed but simply practice anyone of the Karma yoga, listed by Sri Krishna, continuously and without external aid, one’s own effort will yield atman sakshatkaram. Like a wind drifting the clouds hiding the Sun, Gyana of the Karma yoga will clear all our sins and make us to have vision of atman.

4-38Ramanuja’s Commentary..As in this world and all over the material creation there is nothing more purifying and sanctifying then the spiritual knowledge of atma tattva or soul realisation it is the destructive of all sin. Perfecting oneself by the easy practice of karma yoga or the following of prescribed Vedic activities in the manner instructed by the self-realised spiritual master one will naturally attain atma tattva as well in due course of time.

Brahma Sarovar -thiru kullam..kannan neeraidana kullam.. pancha paandavarkaludan..arjun ghat beeshmar ghat..brahma sammyapathyam kittum engey neeraadinaal..adarma sinthanai vullavarkalai maattrum.. baktiyai vallarkkum..pala lakshmam veerarkal eruntha edam..gopighat- geethai pirantha edam Beeshmar ghat -vishnu sahasranamam pirantha edam..kovil selluvathu, vishnu sahasranama solluvathu ..atma gjanam ellathu mudal padi. ethai atma gjanathodu seyvathu.eranndavathu nillai..pavithra damam moontraavathu nillai..baghavaanathu anughraham..sabari  erukkum-risya muhaa parvatham -pakkam vanthathum sarva lohamum punitha thanmai ramanin arul paarvai kodukkum..yentrathu pola..sabari motsham avan kann paarvai kittiyathum kidaithu..”pavithraanaan pavithram yo mangalaanaam mangalam”–Vishnu sahasranamathil mangalathanmai kodupathu avan thaan yennum  slokam..shrethai udaiyavan atma gjanathil nenjai vaithu..thudipudan erukkum avanathu ..manasu layithu. enthirangal adakyavan..atma gjanam kai koodum.. vuyarntha saanthi nilaiyai adaikiraan..pulankalaal kidaikkum thunbam pohirathu ..melana saanthi adaikiraan..yogikalukku  nethiyil  kavalai kodu erukaathu. paramamaana saanthi nalaiyai adaivathaal..  ellam konjam-siruthu kaalathil .adikiraan..brahma theerathaal ethai nokki naamum adaivom..4-39 slokam..shraddhaval labhate jnanam
tat-parah samyatendriyah
jnanam labdhva param shantim
acirenadhigacchati….
Shraddhavan= one who is steadfast in reaching atman sakshatkaram, tat para = always remembering that, samyatendriya = and so has controlled all his sense organs or mind not wandering, labhate jnanam = acquires knowledge [ of atman]. Jnanam labdva = after acquiring that knowledge, param shantim adi gacchati= reaches pinnacle of peace, acirena = within a short spam of time. Pinnacle of peace does not mean he is asleep or in deep meditation, but he is farther away from the worldly sorrows and happiness and nothing disturbs him. Earlier, Sri Krishna told that in the course of time, the person practicing Karma yoga would get atman sakshatkaram. Arjuna got doubt whether that would take long time. Here it is answered that it will be short, though not immediate. ..

4-39..Ramanuja’s Commentary..Receiving knowledge by instructions of the spiritual master becoming more and more devoted and evolved as the process develops and becoming more and more detached from external affairs away from where the sense objects are exerting there influence one will invariably reach the pinnacle of wisdom and attain moksa or liberation from the material existence.
