ஸஹ தாராங்கதாப்யாஂ து ஸங்கம்ய ஹநுமாந்கபிஃ.

கபிஃ Monkey, ஹநுமாந் Hanuman, தாராங்கதாப்யாஂ ஸஹ along with Tara and Angada, ஸங்கம்ய together with, விந்த்யஸ்ய Vindhya, குஹாஷ்ச caves, கஹநாநி ச and impenetrable places, விசிநோதி ஸ்ம searched for.
Hanuman, together with the monkeys, Tara and Angada, searched in the impenetrable places and caves of Vindhya.
ஸிஂஹஷார்தூலஜுஷ்டேஷு ஷிலாஷ்ச ஸரிதஸ்ததா.
விஷமேஷு நகேந்த்ரஸ்ய மஹாப்ரஸ்ரவணேஷு ச৷৷4.50.2৷৷
ததா then, ஸரிதஃ rivers, ஸிஂஹஷார்தூலஜுஷ்டேஷு inhabited by lions and tigers, ஷிலாஷ்ச rocks, நகேந்த்ரஸ்ய vast mountain, விஷமேஷு in difficult spots, மஹாப்ரஸ்ரவணேஷு ச near mountain streams also.
They also searched near rivers, mountain streams, hill ranges, caves of lions and tigers, in the rock shelters and difficult spots of vast mountains.
ஆஸேதுஸ்தஸ்ய ஷைலஸ்ய கோடிஂ தக்ஷ்ணிபஷ்சிமாம்.
தேஷாஂ தத்ரைவ வஸதாஂ ஸ காலோ வ்யத்யவர்தத৷৷4.50.3৷৷
தஸ்ய ஷைலஸ்ய that mountain’s, தக்ஷ்ணிபஷ்சிமாம் south-west side, கோடிம் end of, ஆஸேதுஃ reached, தேஷாம் for them, தத்ரைவ while being there, வஸதாம் while they stayed, ஸஃ காலஃ that time, வ்யத்யவர்தத slipped.
They reached the end of the south-west side of the mountain(Vindhya). While they
were still there, the time stipulated for them (to find Sita) had slipped.
ஸ ஹி தேஷோ துரந்வேஷோ குஹாகஹநவாந்மஹாந்.
தத்ர வாயுஸுதஸ்ஸர்வஂ விசிநோதி ஸ்ம பர்வதம்৷৷4.50.4৷৷
குஹாகஹநவாந் a difficult mountain range, caves and woods, மஹாந் great, ஸஃ தேஷஃ that place, துரந்வேஷஃ difficult to search in, வாயுஸுதஃ son of the Wind-god, தத்ர there, ஸர்வம் all, பர்வதம் mountains, விசிநோதி ஸ்ம had searched.
The son of the Wind-god, Hanuman, searched all over the mountains and caves and woods difficult to access in that south-western region of the mountain.

விசிந்வந்தஸ்ததஸ்தத்ர ததரிஷுர்விவரிதஂ பிலம்৷৷4.50.7৷৷
துர்கமரிக்ஷபிலஂ நாம தாநவேநாபிரக்ஷிதம்.
கஜஃ Gaja, கவாக்ஷஃ Gavaksha, கவயஃ Gavaya, ஷரபஃ Sarabha, கந்தமாதநஃ Gandhamadana, மைந்தஷ்ச Mainda, த்விவிதஷ்சைவ Dvivida also, ஸுஷேணஃ Sushena, ஜாம்பவாந் Jambavan, யுவராஜஃ heir apparent, அங்கதஷ்ச Angada too, வநகோசரஃ forest dweller, தாரஷ்ச and Tara too, பரஸ்பரேண close to one another, ஹநூமாந் Hanuman, அந்யோந்யஸ்ய one with the other, அவிதூரதஃ not far away from one, கிரிஜாலாவரிதாந் surrounded by a network of mountains, தேஷாந் locations, மார்கித்வா having searched, தக்ஷிணாஂ திஷம் southern direction, ததஃ then, விசிந்வந்தஃ while exploring, தத்ர there, தாநவேந by a demon, அபிரக்ஷிதம் guarded by, துர்கம் large, றக்ஷபிலஂ நாம called Rikshabilam, விவரிதம் open, பிலம் mouth of the cave, ததரிஷுஃ they saw.
Having explored the region surrounded by a network of mountains, Gaja, Gavaksha, Gavaya, Sarabha, Gandhamadana, Mainda and also Dvivida, Sushena, Jambavan, Angada the heir apparent, Tara the forest-dweller staying close to one another and Hanuman too not far from the others searched in the southern direction. While they were exploring, they saw the mouth of a large cave called Rikshabilam, which had its mouth open, guarded by a demon.
க்ஷுத்பிபாஸாபரீதாஷ்ச ஷ்ராந்தாஷ்ச ஸலிலார்திநஃ৷৷4.50.8৷৷
அவகீர்ணஂ லதாவரிக்ஷைர்ததரிஷுஸ்தே மஹாபிலம்.
க்ஷுத்பிபாஸாபரீதாஃ overcome by hunger and thirst, ஷ்ராந்தாஃ tired out, ஸலிலார்திநஃ (desperately) looking for water, தே they, லதாவரிக்ஷைஃ with creepers and bushes, அவகீர்ணம் spread with creepers and trees, மஹாபிலம் huge cave, ததரிஷுஃ saw.
Overcome with hunger and thirst, the exhausted monkeys noticed a huge cave covered with creepers and bushes, while they were looking around for water.
தத்ர க்ரௌஞ்சாஷ்ச ஹஂஸாஷ்ச ஸாரஸாஷ்ச விநிஷ்க்ரமந்৷৷4.50.9৷৷
ஜலார்த்ராஷ்சக்ரவாகாஷ்ச ரக்தாங்கா: பத்மரேணுபிஃ.
தத்ர there, க்ரௌஞ்சாஷ்ச kraunchas, ஹஂஸாஷ்ச swans, ஸாரஸாஷ்ச geese, ஜலார்த்ராஃ drenched in water, பத்மரேணுபிஃ covered by the pollen of lotuses, ரக்தாங்காஃ wings red in colour, சக்ரவாகாஷ்ச chakravakas, விநிஷ்க்ரமந் flying out of it.
Just then, the kraunchas, swans, geese and chakravaka drenched in water with their limbs reddened with the pollen of lotuses were fluttering out (of the cave).
ததஸ்தத்பிலமாஸாத்ய ஸுகந்தி துரதிக்ரமம்৷৷4.50.10৷৷
விஸ்மயவ்யக்ரமநஸோ பபூவுர்வாநரர்ஷபாஃ.
ததஃ then, வாநரர்ஷபாஃ bulls among monkeys, ஸுகந்தி fragrant, துரதிக்ரமம் difficult to enter, தத்
that, பிலம் cave, ஆஸாத்ய reached, விஸ்மயவ்யக்ரமநஸஃ bewildered, பபூவுஃ became.
The bulls among the monkeys were bewildered when they reached the cave which was difficult to access.
ஸஂஞ்ஜாதபரிஷங்காஸ்தே தத்பிலஂ ப்லவகோத்தமாஃ৷৷4.50.11৷৷
அப்யபத்யந்த ஸஂஹரிஷ்டாஸ்தேஜோவந்தோ மஹாபலாஃ.
தேஜோவந்தஃ brilliant, மஹாபலாஃ forces, தே those, ப்லவகோத்தமாஃ best of the monkeys, ஸஞ்ஜாதபரிஷங்காஃ afraid, ஸஂஹரிஷ்டாஃ they felt happy, தத் பிலம் that cave, அப்யபத்யந்த that was difficult to enter.
The brilliant host of monkeys experienced both fear and joy to see the cave difficult to enter.
நாநாஸத்த்வஸமாகீர்ணஂ தைத்யேந்த்ரநிலயோபமம்৷৷4.50.12৷৷
துர்தர்ஷமதிகோரஂ ச துர்விகாஹஂ ச ஸர்வஷஃ.
நாநாஸத்த்வஸமாகீர்ணம் crowded with different kinds of creatures, தைத்யேந்த்ரநிலயோபமம் looked like the abode of king of the demons, துர்தர்ஷம் fearful to look at, அதி கோரம் highly dreadful, ஸர்வஷஃ all over, துர்விகாஹ்யஂ ச and inaccessible.
The cave was crowded with creatures of different kinds. It looked like the abode of the king of demons difficult (to enter), dreadful and impenetrable.
தத: பர்வதகூடாபோ ஹநூமாந்பவநாத்மஜஃ৷৷4.50.13৷৷
அப்ரவீத்வாநராந்ஸர்வாந்காந்தாரவநகோவிதஃ.
ததஃ then, பர்வதகூடாபஃ a being as huge as a mountain, காந்தாரவநகோவிதஃ knowledgeable of dense forests, பவநாத்மஜஃ son of the wind-god, ஹநூமாந் Hanuman, ஸர்வாந் all, வாநராந் monkeys, அப்ரவீத் said:
Then Hanuman, son of the Wind-god who appeared like a huge mountain and knew
about forests spoke to the fellow-monkeys:
கிரிஜாலாவரிதாந்தேஷாந்மார்கித்வா தக்ஷிணாஂ திஷம்৷৷4.50.14৷৷
வயஂ ஸர்வே பரிஷ்ராந்தா ந ச பஷ்யாம மைதிலீம்.
வயம் we, ஸர்வே all, கிரிஜாலாவரிதாந் having covered all the mountain ranges, தேஷாந் places, மார்கித்வா having searched, தக்ஷிணாஂ திஷம் southern side, பரிஷ்ராந்தாஃ exhausted, மைதிலீம் Maithili, ந ச பஷ்யாம not see.
‘Going round the places covering all mountain ranges in the southern direction, we are spent. But we could not see Maithili.
அஸ்மாச்சாபி பிலாத்தஂஸாஃ க்ரௌஞ்சாஷ்ச ஸஹ ஸாரஸைஃ৷৷4.50.15৷৷
ஜலார்த்ராஷ்சக்ரவாகாஷ்ச நிஷ்பதந்தி ஸ்ம ஸர்வஷஃ.
நூநஂ ஸலிலவாநத்ர கூபோ வா யதி வா ஹ்ரதஃ৷৷4.50.16৷৷
ததா சேமே பிலத்வாரி ஸ்நிக்தாஸ்திஷ்டந்தி பாதபாஃ.
அஸ்மாத் from this, பிலாத் cave, ஹஂஸாஃ swans, ஸாரஸைஃ ஸஹ with sarasas, க்ரௌஞ்சாஷ்ச and kraunchas, ஜலார்த்ராஃ drenched in water, சக்ரவாகாஷ்ச chakravakas also, ஸர்வஷஃ all over, நிஷ்பதந்தி ஸ்ம emerging, அத்ர here, ஸலிலவாந் abundant water, கூபோ வா well or, யதி வா so also, ஹ்ரதஃ a pond, நூநம் surely, ததா like that, இமே these, பிலத்வாரி at the entrance of the cave, பாதபாஃ trees, ஸ்நிக்தாஃ shining, திஷ்டந்தி are present.
‘From this cave have emerged several birds like sarasas, swans, kraunchas and chakravakas drenched in water. Surely there must be a source of plenty of water or well or a pond. Moreover there are shining( green) trees at the entrance of the cave (suggesting sub-soil water).’
இத்யுக்த்வா தத்பிலஂ ஸர்வே விவிஷுஸ்திமிராவரிதம்৷৷4.50.17৷৷
அசந்த்ரஸூர்யஂ ஹரயோ ததரிஷூ ரோமஹர்ஷணம்.
இதி thus, உக்த்வா having been told, ஸர்வே all, திமிராவரிதம் filled with darkness, தத் பிலம் that cave, விவிஷுஃ entered, ஹரயஃ monkeys, அசந்த்ரஸூர்யம் where there is no Moon or Sun light, ரோமஹர்ஷணம் horripilating, ததரிஷுஃ saw.
On hearing him, the monkeys entered the cave full of darkness. There was no light of the Moon or the Sun. It was a horripilating experience.
நிஷாம்ய தஸ்மாத் ஷிஂஹாஂஷ்ச தாஂஸ்தாஂஷ்ச மரிகபக்ஷ்ணிஃ৷৷4.50.18৷৷
ப்ரவிஷ்டா ஹரிஷார்தூலா பிலஂ திமிரஸஂவரிதம்.
ஹரிஷார்தூலாஃ tigers among monkeys, தஸ்மாத் from, ஸிஂஹாஂஷ்ச lions, தாஂஸ்தாந் various types of, மரிகபக்ஷ்ணிஃ beasts and birds, நிஷாம்ய after hearing their sounds, திமிரஸஂவரிதம் full of darkness, பிலம் cave, ப்ரவிஷ்டாஃ entered.
The tigers among the monkeys entered the dark cave reverberating with the sounds of lions, beasts and birds.
ந தேஷாஂ ஸஜ்ஜதே சக்ஷுர்ந தேஜோ ந பராக்ரமஃ৷৷4.50.19৷৷
வாயோரிவ கதிஸ்தேஷாஂ தரிஷ்டிஸ்தமஸி வர்ததே.
தேஷாம் their, சக்ஷு: eyes, ந not, ஸஜ்ஜதே was uninterrupted, தேஜஃ brilliance, ந not, பராக்ரமஃ valour, ந not, தேஷாம் their, கதிஃ way, வாயோரிவ like the wind, தரிஷ்டிஃ sight, தமஸி in darkness, வர்ததே moved
The monkeys could not fix their eyes anywhere.Their lustre or valour could not help them. They moved like wind uninterrupted and their vision was lost in darkness.
தே ப்ரவிஷ்டாஸ்து வேகேந தத்பிலஂ கபிகுஞ்ஜராஃ৷৷4.50.20৷৷
ப்ரகாஷமபிராமஂ ச ததரிஷுர்தேஷமுத்தமம்.
தத் பிலம் that cave, வேகேந quickly, ப்ரவிஷ்டாஃ they entered, தே கபிகுஞ்ஜராஃ those elephant-like
monkeys, ப்ரகாஷஂ ச bright light, அபிராமஂ ச delighting, உத்தமம் excellent, தேஷம் place, ததரிஷுஃ saw.
As the elephant-like monkeys entered the cave quickly, they saw bright light and an excellent delightful place.
ததஸ்தஸ்மிந்பிலே துர்கே நாநாபாதபஸங்குலே৷৷4.50.21৷৷
அந்யோந்யஂ ஸம்பரிஷ்வஜ்ய ஜக்முர்யோஜநமந்தரம்.
ததஃ then, அந்யோந்யம் one another, ஸம்பரிஷ்வஜ்ய after holding on, துர்கே in the dense, நாநாபாதபஸங்குலே in a place filled with several kinds of trees, தஸ்மிந் பிலே in that cave, யோஜநம் yojana, அந்தரம் inside, ஜக்முஃ went.
Holding one another’s hands, they went in for a distance of one yojana inside the cave that was densely covered with several kinds of trees.
தே நஷ்டஸஂஜ்ஞாஸ்தரிஷிதாஸ்ஸம்ப்ராந்தாஸ்ஸலிலார்திநஃ৷৷4.50.22৷৷
பரிபேதுர்பிலே தஸ்மிந்கஞ்சித்காலமதந்த்ரிதாஃ.
நஷ்டஸஂஜ்ஞாஃ they nearly lost consciousness, தரிஷிதாஃ thirsty ones, ஸம்ப்ராந்தாஃ bewildered ones, ஸலிலார்திநஃ they were desperate for water, தே they, அதந்த்ரிதாஃ without feeling lazy, தஸ்மிந் in that, பிலே in the cave, கஞ்சித்காலம் for a while, பரிபேதுஃ wandered.
Having nearly lost their senses (without water to drink), the thirsty and bewildered monkeys were desperate for water.They wandered in the cave without feeling lazy for some time.
தே கரிஷா தீநவதநாஃ பரிஷ்ராந்தாஃ ப்லவங்கமாஃ৷৷4.50.23৷৷
ஆலோகஂ ததரிஷுர்வீரா நிராஷா ஜீவிதே யதா.
கரிஷாஃ weakened, தீநவதநாஃ having dejected faces, பரிஷ்ராந்தாஃ exhausted ones, தே they, வீராஃ heroes, ப்லவங்கமாஃ monkeys, யதா when, ஜீவிதே in life, நிராஷாஃ desperate, ஆலோகம் light,
ததரிஷுஃ beheld.
Exhausted and enfeebled, they saw with dejected faces a gleam of light at a time when they were desparate.
ததஸ்தஂ தேஷமாகம்ய ஸௌம்யா விதிமிரஂ வநம்৷৷4.50.24৷৷
ததரிஷுஃ காஞ்சநாந்வரிக்ஷாந்தீப்தவைஷ்வாநரப்ரபாந்.
ஸாலாஂ ஸ்தாலாஂஷ்ச புந்நாகாந்ககுபாந்வஞ்ஜுலாந்தவாந்৷৷4.50.25৷৷
சம்பகாந் நாகவரிக்ஷாஂஷ்ச கர்ணிகாராஂஷ்ச புஷ்பிதாந்.
ஸ்தபகைஃ காஞ்சநைஷ்சித்ரை ரக்தை: கிஸலயைஸ்ததா৷৷4.50.26৷৷

மஹத்பி: காஞ்சநைஃ பத்மைர்வரிதா பாலார்கஸந்நிபைஃ.
ஸௌம்யாஃ gentle ones, ததஃ then, தஂ தேஷம் place, ஆகம்ய having reached, விதிமிரம் devoid of darkness, வநம் forest, தீப்தவைஷ்வாநரப்ரபாம் light of burning fire, காஞ்சநாந் golden, வரிக்ஷாந் trees, ஸாலாந் salas, தாலாந் talas, தமாலாஂஷ்ச tamalas, புந்நாகாந் punnagas, வஞ்ஜுலாந் vanjjulas, தவாந் dhavas, சம்பகாந் champakas, நாகவரிக்ஷாஂஷ்ச naga trees, புஷ்பிதாந் blossomed, கர்ணிகாராஂஷ்ச Karnikas also, காஞ்சநைஃ golden, சித்ரைஃ wonderful, ஸ்தபகைஃ bunches, ததா so also, ரக்தை: red ones, கிஸலயைஃ tender leaves, ஆபீடைஃ entwining, லதாபிஷ்ச with creepers, ஹேமாபரணபூஷிதாந் adorned with golden ornaments, தருணாதித்யஸங்காஷாந் looking like effulgent rising Sun, வைதூர்யமயவேதிகாந் raised structures encrusted with precious stones of Vaiduryas, வபுஷா with their appearance, விப்ராஜமாநாந் dazzling, ஹிரண்மயாந் full of gold, பாதபாஂஷ்ச and trees, நீலவைதூர்யவர்ணாஃ of the colours of sapphires and vaiduryas, பதகைஃ with birds, வரிதாஃ filled, பாலார்கஸந்நிபைஃ by those looking like the rising Sun, காஞ்சநைஃ with golden, மஹத்பி: by
enchanting ones, பத்மைஃ lotuses, வரிதாஃ surrounded, பத்மிநீஃ lotus ponds, ததரிஷுஃ saw.
Having reached inside the cave the monkeys saw a forest shining like blazing fire, dispelling the surrounding darkness. There they noticed sala, tala, tamala, punnaga, vanjjula, dhava, champaka, and naga trees. They also saw blossoming plants of Karnikara, bunches of beautiful golden flowers and tender red-coloured leaves.They saw wonderful trees with creepers on top entwining them, and ornamented with gold (like golden fruits), radiant like the dazzling rising Sun. There were altars encrusted with precious sapphire and vaidurya. The golden trees were shining bright. There were lotus creepers looking like sapphire and vaidurya.The ponds were filled with golden lotuses and were surrounded by birds.
ஜாதரூபமயைர்மத்ஸ்யைர்மஹத்பிஷ்ச ஸகச்சபைஃ৷৷4.50.29৷৷
நளிநீஸ்தத்ர ததரிஷுஃ ப்ரஸந்நஸலிலாவரிதாஃ.
ஸஃ that, ஜாதரூபமயைஃ with those golden ones, மத்ஸ்யைஃ with fish, மஹத்பி with huge, அத and then, கச்சபைஃ with tortoises, ப்ரஸந்நஸலிலாவரிதாஃ filled with pellucid water, நலிநீஃ lotus creepers, தத்ர ததரிஷுஃ saw there.
There they saw golden fishes and huge tortoises in the pellucid water of the tank filled with lotus creepers.
காஞ்சநாநி விமாநாநி ராஜதாநி ததைவ ச৷৷4.50.30৷৷
தபநீயகவாக்ஷாணி முக்தாஜாலாவரிதாநி ச.
ஹைமராஜதபௌமாநி வைதூர்யமணிமந்தி ச৷৷4.50.31৷৷
ததரிஷுஸ்தத்ர ஹரயோ கரிஹமுக்யாநி ஸர்வஷஃ.
ஹரயஃ monkeys, தத்ர there, காஞ்சநாநி golden, ததைவ similarly, ராஜதாநி silver, விமாநாநி high-rise palaces, தபநீயகவாக்ஷாணி golden windows (shaped like cow’s eye fixed on the roofs and walls), முக்தாஜாலாவரிதாநி ச covered with lattices of pearls, ஹைமராஜதபௌமாநி made of gold, silver and mud (earth), வைதுர்யமணிமந்தி ச decorated with precious gems of vaidurya, கரிஹமுக்யாநி beautiful houses, ஸர்வஷஃ all over, ததரிஷுஃ they saw.
The vanaras beheld high-rise palaces built with gold and silver. The windows fixed on the roof were golden, shaped like cow’s eye with lattices of pearls. They also saw best of houses built in gold, silver and clay, decorated with precious gems including vaidurya.
புஷ்பிதாந்பலிநோ வரிக்ஷாந்ப்ரவாளமணிஸந்நிபாந்৷৷4.50.32৷৷
காஞ்சநப்ரமராஂஷ்சைவ மதூநி ச ஸமந்ததஃ.
புஷ்பிதாந் blossomed, பலிநஃ with ripe fruits, ப்ரவாலமணிஸந்நிபாந் trees bright like corals, வரிக்ஷாந் trees, காஞ்சநப்ரமராஂஷ்சைவ golden bees also, மதூநி ச and different kinds of honey, ஸமந்ததஃ all over.
They saw trees bright like corals in full bloom and ripe fruits. Golden bees were found hovering around making all kinds of honey.
மணிகாஞ்சநசித்ராணி ஷயநாந்யாஸநாநி ச৷৷4.50.33৷৷
மஹார்ஹாணி சயாநாநி ததரிஷுஸ்தே ஸமந்ததஃ.
ஹைமராஜதகாஂஸ்யாநாஂ பாஜநாநாஂ ச ஸஂஞ்சயாந்৷৷4.50.34৷৷
தே they, மணிகாஞ்சநசித்ராணி wonderfully shining with gems and gold, மஹார்ஹாணி highly valuable ones, ச also, யாநாநி vehicles, ஷயநாநி beds, ஆஸநாநி ச and couches, ஹைமராஜதகாஂஸ்யாநாம் made of gold, silver and bronze, பாஜநாநாம் of utensils, ஸஂஞ்சயாந் ச collections, ஸமந்ததஃ all over, ததரிஷுஃ they saw.
They saw all over rich collections of beds, couches and highly valuable vehicles, decorated beautifully with gems and gold.They also saw a large collection of shining utensils made of gold, silver and bronze.
அகரூணாஂ ச திவ்யாநாஂ சந்தநாநாஂ ச ஸஂஞ்சாயாந்.
ஷுசீந்யப்யவஹார்யாணி மூலாநி ச பலாநி ச৷৷4.50.35৷৷
திவ்யாநாம் of wonderful, அகரூணாம் of incense, சந்தநாநாம் of sandal, ஸஞ்சயாந் collections, ஷுசீநி pure, அப்யவஹார்யாணி eatables, மூலாநி ச roots, பலாநி ச and fruits.
There they noticed a wonderful collection of incense and sandal, tasty and pure eatables, roots and fruits;
மஹார்ஹாணி ச பாநாநி மதூநி ரஸவந்தி ச.
திவ்யாநாமம்பராணாஂ ச மஹார்ஹாணாஂ ச ஸஞ்சயாந்৷৷4.50.36৷৷
கம்பலாநாஂ ச சித்ராணாமஜிநாநாஂ ச ஸஞ்சயாந்.
மஹார்ஹாணி very rich, பாநாநி drinks, ரஸவந்தி tasty, மதூநி many kinds of honey, திவ்யாநாம் wonderful, மஹார்ஹாணாம் of valuable ones, அம்பராணாம் of clothes, ஸஞ்சயாந் ச and collections, சித்ராணாம் of colourful, கம்பலாநாஂ ச of blankets, அஜிநாநாஂ ச of animal skins, ஸஞ்சயாந் collection.
(They found) excellent drinks and many kinds of honey, wonderful collections of clothes, colourful blankets and heaps of animal skin.
தத்ர தத்ர ச விந்யஸ்தாந்தீப்தாந்வைஷ்வாநரப்ரபாந்৷৷4.50.37৷৷
ததரிஷுர்வாநராஷ்ஷுப்ராஞ்ஜாதரூபஸ்ய ஸஞ்சயாந்.
வாநராஃ monkeys, தத்ர தத்ர here and there, விந்யஸ்தாந் placed, தீப்தாந் glittering, வைஷ்வாநரப்ரபாந் like blazing fire, ஷுப்ராந் pure, ஜாதரூபஸ்ய gold, ஸஞ்சயாந் collections, ததரிஷுஃ observed.
The monkeys marked here and there a collection of gold, glittering like blazing fire.
தத்ர தத்ர விசிந்வந்தோ பிலே தஸ்மிந்மஹாபலாஃ৷৷4.50.38৷৷
ததரிஷுர்வாநராஷ்ஷூராஃ ஸ்த்ரியஂ காஞ்சிததூரதஃ.
மஹாபலாஃ strong, ஷூராஃ powerful, வாநராஃ monkeys, தஸ்மிந்பிலே in that cave, தத்ர தத்ர here and
there, விசிந்வந்தஃ while they searched, அதூரதஃ not far from there, காஞ்சித் some, ஸ்த்ரியம் woman, ததரிஷுஃ saw.
While searching here and there in the cave, the strong and powerful monkeys discovered a woman not far from there.
தாஂ தரிஷ்ட்வா பரிஷஸந்த்ரஸ்தாஷ்சீரகரிஷ்ணாஜிநாம்பராம்৷৷4.50.39৷৷
தாபஸீஂ நியதாஹாராஂ ஜ்வலந்தீமிவ தேஜஸா.
தரிஷ்ட்வா on seeing, தாஂ her, சீரகரிஷ்ணாஜிநாம்பராம் wearing deer skin and bark robes, நியதாஹாராம் restricted food, தேஜஸா with lustre, ஜ்வலந்தீமிவ as if glowing, தாபஸீம் a female ascetic, பரிஷஸந்த்ரஸ்தா very much frightened.
She was an ascetic in bark robes and deer skin blazing with lustre, restrained in her food. The monkeys got very frightened.
விஸ்மிதா ஹரயஸ்தத்ர வ்யவதிஷ்டந்த ஸர்வஷஃ৷৷4.50.40৷৷
பப்ரச்ச ஹநுமாஂஸ்தத்ர காஸி த்வஂ கஸ்ய வா பிலம்.
ஹரயஃ monkeys, விஸ்மிதாஃ amazed, தத்ர there, ஸர்வஷஃ all over, வ்யவதிஷ்டந்த stopped, தத்ர there, ஹநுமாந் Hanuman, பப்ரச்ச enquired, த்வம் you, கா அஸி who are, பிலம் cave, கஸ்ய வா whose is it?
The amazed monkeys stopped there. Hanuman enquired, ‘Who are you? Whose cave is this’?
ததோ ஹநூமாந்கிரிஸந்நிகாஷஃ
கரிதாஜ்ஞலிஸ்தாமபிவாத்ய வரித்தாம்.
பப்ரச்ச கா த்வஂ பவநஂ பிலஂ ச
ரத்நாநி சேமாநி வதஸ்வ கஸ்ய৷৷4.50.41৷৷
ததஃ then, கிரிஸந்நிகாஷஃ resembling a mountain in size, ஹநூமாந் Hanuman, கரிதாஞ்ஜலிஃ offered salutations with folded palms, தாஂ வரித்தாம் to that old lady, அபிவாத்ய having greeted, பப்ரச்ச enquired, த்வம் you, கா who, பவநம் this mansion, பிலஂ ச and cave, இமாநி these, ரத்நாநி ச gems, கஸ்ய whose, வதஸ்வ tell.
Then Hanuman who was of the size of a mountain greeted the old lady with folded hands and enquired her ‘Who are you? To whom does this mansion, this cave and these gems belong?’
