967..OM BHUR-BHAVAS-SVAS-TARAVE  NAMAHA..He who is the tree for the  beings of the three worlds-earth, sky and heaven(svarga-loha). like.Paarijaata celestial tree..Actually He is the protector of 14 worlds.. but these three mentioned referring to naimitikapralaya.. when these get submerged in water during pralaya. He protects by swallowing them and keeping in His stomach..”iv vaiyaham muvat tani mudalaay moovulaham kaavalon”..thiruvay2-8-5

968..OM TARAYA NAMAHA..One who is the ferry to cross the ocean of samsara..We saw in 340.”nanda naragathu azlunthaa vahai naalum enthaai thodar anavarrkku  in arul seyvai”peria thiruvanthaathi-11-8-10.’vaikunthan entru or toni petru ugazlkintren”nackiaar 5-4.Thiru naavaay Divya desam.Mugundan Perumaal.recall the two worm story of crossing two hills with the help of lion..all that the individual is to do is surrender and get into the boat and the rest the boat-man will do..Raman erukkum edathil kaaman ellai.. kaaman erukkum edathil ramaaan ellai.. he is our daaraha manthram.

969..OM SAVITRE NAMAHA..One who creates every thing.. we saw in 887..as producer of sun, rain etc as seventh step in Archhati margam.As a-dvaaraka srushti He creates 24 tatvas–prakrti, ahangaaram, mahangaara.five subtle elements(sabda,sparisa,rupa,rasa and gandha–sound,touch,sigght, taste and smell),pancha-bhutaas ether, air, agni or light,water and earth,five karmendiriyaas hand, leg,tongue, anus and organ for reproduction,five gjana endiraas ear, eye, mouth,nose and skin and manas.After this He creates the First being catur muga brahma..and endows him with the knowledge of  continuing further creation..he becomes antaryami of Brahma and giudes him further..This later shrishti is called sa-dvaaraka srushti.”ni yonihalai padai entru nirai nannmuhanai padaithittavan”thiruvay1-5-3.He is like sa-pita father of all beings.

970..OM PRAPITAA-MAHAAYA NAMAHA..The great-grand father.Brahma is pita-mahar the grand-father.

971..OM YAJNAAYA NAMAHA..He who is the sacrifice..We saw in 446.He is the object, bestower of benefits of yajna,aids in the performance of yajna,..He is aloso yajna for those who have no other means but by doing Nama sangeerthanam they can get all those benefits..

972..OM YAJNA-PATAYE NAMAHA..the lord of yajna..He who gives the friut of sacrifices done to please Him.

973..OM YAJVANE NAMAHA..He who performs the sacrifice..He gives us all the fruits of yajna..

974..OM YAJNAANGAAYA NAMAHA..He for whom yajna is done as anga or part to reach Him..

975..OM YAJNA-VAAHANAAYA NAMAHA..One, who helps others to complete their  sacrifices..He gives us the ability or sakti..interest or sreddha..authority or adhikaara to undertake yajnas..

YAJNABHRUT  YAJNAKRUT  YAJNI  YAJNABHUK  YAJNASAADHANAHA             YAJNAANTAKRUT  YAJNAGUHYA   MANNA MANNAADA YAVA CA..

976..OM YAJNA-BHRTE NAMAHA..One who brings about the  completion of the sacrifice even if there are imperfections..Final offering of Purnahuti thinking of Him will nullify  all defects. in mantra, tantra,vidhi, viparyasa etc…He bears the bhaaram or burden of completing..

977..OM YAJNA-KRTE NAMAHA..One who created the sacrifice..for the well being of the universe..Yajna was created as bridge betwen devas and manusha..Devas get the havir-baham and give the rainetc..

978..OM YAJNINE NAMAHA..He for whom yajnas are done..”seigai payan unbeynum yaaney yennum’..thiruvay 5-6-4.see thirumaalai -25 also.alwar knows only for cry for help..

979..OM YAJNA-BHUJE  NAMAHA..The enjoyer or the protector of sacrifice..Like Rama helped Visvamitrar’s yajnas..

980..OM YAJNA-SAADHANAAYA NAMAHA..One who is the accessory for  the sacrifices..it is not the substance but dedication which is important..Saadhanam refers to ubhaayam.. nithya aaradanam to be done with srethai and dedication.

981..OM YAJANAANTA-KRETE NAMAHA..One who produces the fruir of the sacrifices..He makes the attainment of true knowledge about him as the end and goal of yajanam.

982..OM YAJNA-GUHYAAYA NAMAHA..One who is the secret of the sacrifice..Even though the yajnam is for other deity, as antaryami ,Bagavan receives the same.

983..OM ANNAAYA NAMAHA..The object of enjoyment..for a true devotee every thing is Him.”unnum soru ..paruhum vettilai ellam kannan”-thiruvaay 6=7=1″vasudevas sarvam”..gita 7==-19.”aham annam aham annam aham annam aham annaadoham  annaadah”Taitrya upanishad..He is both annam and annaadah, the enjoyer.refer thiruvaay 5-10 decade.”palaazli nee kidakkum panbai yaam keetteyum,kaal azlum nenju azliyum ,kann sizlulum,neelaazli sodiyaay, azliyaay,tol vinal embaal kadiyum,neediyaay nirrcarnthu nintru”..periya thiruvanthaathi -34.

984..OM ANNAADAAYA NAMAHA..The enjoyer of those who enjoy Him.this mutual love is saidthiruvvay 9-7-9 “vaari konndu unnai vizlunguvan kaanil,entru arivutra yennai,ozliya yennil munnam paarithu,tan yennai muttap paruhinaan,kaar occum kaatkarai appan kadiyane”..”aham annam annamadandamaami”-taittriya upanishad.

985..OM ATMA-YONAYE NAMAHA..One who mixes with His devotees very  easily..like milk and sugar..He lets them enjoy Him easily and  completely as long as they are sincerly devoted to him.”unil vaazl ueirey nallai po unnai petru vaanulaar perumaan Madusoodanan en ammaan ,taanum yaanum ellaam tannule kalandu Ozlindom,theynum ,paalum neyyum, kannalum , amudhum ottey”..thiruvaay 2-3-1. like theyn with theyn,milk with milk. etc–level more  intimate han milk and sugar..

986..OM SVAYAM-JATAAYA NAMAHA..One who is self-born..or not created by any one else.He takes incarnations as and when necessary..out os His own sankalpam and will.”ueir azlippaan yenintra yoniyumaa pirandaai  emaiyor talaivaa”..thiru viruttam-1.”tan or uruvey tani vittaai tannil moovar mudalaaya” thiruvaay 1-5-4

987..OM VAIKHAAYANAAYA NAMAHA..One who uproots the evils  of the world..in particular evil of our samsara..repeated birth and  death..”poi nintra gjanamum polla ozlukkum ,azlukku udambum in ninntra neermai eni yaam utrauvaamai,uyir allippaan en-nintra yoniyumaap piranthaay,imaiyor talaivaa,mei-nintru keyttu arulaay adiyen seyyum vinnappamey”.thiruviruttam-1

988..OM SAAMA-GAYANAAYA NAMAHA..One before whom Sama Gaanams are sung..Muktaas keep on singing Sama Gaanam after reaching Him..”vedanaam sama vedosmi, devanaam asmi vasavah,indriyaam manas asmi,bhutaanaam asmi cetanaa”..gita 10-22.

989..OM DEVAKI-NANDANAYA NAMAHA..One who is the sourse of joy to Devaki..Beeshma telling Yudishthira  that Braham revealed by these namas is none other than Krishna seated here.

990..OM SRESHTRE NAMAHA..The creator..we saw in 595..This devaki nandana is none other than pars-vasu-deva..

991..OM KSHITEESAAYA NAMAHA..The lord of earth..He is lord of all worlds still He incarnates on the earth many times because of the sufferings we face here..”easun vaanavarkku enban entraal adu desamo thiruvenkadathaanukku neesanen niraivu ontrum elleyn en kan paasam vaitta param sudar sodikkey”.thiruvaay-3-3-4..

992..OM PAPA-NAASANAAYA NAMAHA..The destroyer of sins..By meditating on His bala-leelai with single minded devotion, our internal eniemies are removed..with His divine weapons He removes our external enemies..”papa-naasanai pangaym tadam  kannanai paravumino”..thiruvaay 3-6-2.”nattil ulla paapam ellaam summanaathey kai vittu odi thriigukal paaynthanavey’..perialwar.

SANKHABHRUNANDHAKI  CAKREE SARNGADANVAA  GADAADHARAH               RADHANGAPAANI   RAKSHOBHYAH  SARVA PRAHARANAAYUDHA.

These divine weapons are both ornaments and for protection..He carries these all the time for us..Alwar pities Him that none is helping Him carry these..”alum aal aar aazliyum sangum sumappar…tam vaalum villum konndu pin selvar ..mattrillai”.thiruvaay 8-3-3.Cakram symbolises  canstant movement of manas..Vayu veyham mano veham..Sangam-tamasa ahangaaram..from which pancha botams appeared -prithvi, appu, vaayu, dejas ans aahaayam.. and saptham one of the tan-mantras which is the first stage before  aahaasam appears..the sound of the counch..gaddha-buddhi, which unlike manas which is cancalam is the stabilising factor.sarnga-the sattvika ..five karma and five gjana enthirangal..sarangam is the controllor of inthirams and finally nandaki the sword represents brahma-vidya

993..OM SANKHA-BHRTE NAMAHA..One who supports and nourishes the sangam with his Adharaamurutham..”unbadhu sollil ulagalanthaan vaay amudham,kann padaai kollil kadal vannan kai amudham”..nachiaar thirumozli.7-7.Battar explains that this Brahmaa whose sowpalyam and soweelyam was described so far is the same Para-vasu=devan holding all these pancha aayudams.

994..OM NANDAKINE NAMAHA. ..One who is holding Nandaki,the sword..This makes the devotee happy.

995..OM CAKRINE NAMAHA..One who has the cakram ..we saw in 908..sudarsana Alwaar.”tadavarai tol cakrapaani”.perialwar.For drishti beeshmar has mentioned nandaki between sangan and cakram..

996..OM SAARNGA-DHANVANE NAMAHA..One who has the bow named Saarngam..It destroys enemies in two ways..by the sound of the chord and by the arrows..’taazlaathey sarngamuthaitha  sara mazlai pol’..It represents ego the ahangaara tattvam..

997..OM GADAA-DHARAAYA NAMAHA..One who bears the Gada or mace..Kaumodaki is the name..

998..OM RATHAANGA-PAANAYE NAMAHA..One who is armed with the wheel in His hand..we saw in 995.. here his readiness for action  is stressed..”eppozluthum kai kazlavaa nemiyaan” thiru viruttam-87..It also may mean His taking the wheel of the chariot to make beshma’s word to come true breaking His own word that He will not take any arms..

999..OM AKSHOBHYAAYA NAMAHA..One who is unshakable..we saw  in 807..He  cannot be shaken from the vow of protection oh his devotees ..recall Rama’s word to seetha.Aranya 10-19..Also “darva sarmaan..maa cukah “..

1000..OM SARVA-PRAHARANAAYUDHAYA NAMAHA..One who has  all weapons to protect from evil..just like His infinite powers He has infinite weapons each with infinite powers..all for protection of His creations..recall His finger nails against Hiranya kasibu, darbam against kaakasuran, his sucking of boodana etc He is satya sankalpan  by his free will He can achieve any thing.”kanjan vayiril neruppay nintra nedu maaley”..Nithya soories take the form of weapons for His anubhavam..”kakkum iyalvinan kanna piraan serkkai seidu tan undi ulle vaidha tisai muhan indiran vaanavar akkinaan deiva ulagygale”.thiruvaay-2-2-9..Protection is the first aim .paruthraayanaya saaduunaam vinaasaayasa dushkruthaam”..Kakkum ealvinan first, serkai seythu second and akkinaan creation is the third..”asurarkalai neeru ahum padiyaaaha nirumittu, padai totta “..Thiruvay 4-8-1..key word is “nirumittu ‘..having decided in His mind  ..”padai totta”.. then He used His weapons..

VANAMAALEE  GADEE  SARNGEE SANGEE  CHAKREE CA NANDAKEE                  SRIMAAN  NAARAAYANO  VISHNUR   VASUDEVO  BHIRAKSHATU..

             SRI VASUDEVOS  BHIRAKSHATU  OM  NAMO ITI.

This slokam contains the essence of  Vishnu Gayatri mantram..Sriman Narayana   is adorned with  garland named “vanamaala “and armed with gada,sarngam,sangu,cakram ans nandaki..he is Vishnu, all pervasive,and vasudeva ;one who resides in all and one in whom all reside..May that vasudeva protect us all.
